Fans of Boyzone can rejoice – the boyband (or should we say manband!?) have announced some exciting plans for their 25th anniversary.
The group are planning a special homecoming gig for the big occasion, which is two years away, after spending the summer touring the UK and Asia.
The Dubliners say they are looking forward to playing at home after their many gigs overseas, which left them feeling like they were back in the 90s, such was the excitement.
“The TV shows we did were electric, and when we landed at the airport it was just like being back in the 90s,” Shane Lynch revealed.
“The army was there to pick us up because there were that many people – all that stuff we had forgotten existed because we are that little bit older now.”
He added: “The gigs in England over the summer were great because they were every weekend, so we could plan around them.”
“It was no pressure or hassle and we got to do our own thing during the week and go away with our families. Asia was fabulous as well, but we didn’t get the opportunity to gig here.”
After such a memorable experience, Shane said the lads will be taking it easy until their milestone gig.
“Touring is a hard thing to do so we’re not going to do much until the 25th anniversary, which is two years away,” he admitted to the Herald.
“We’ll do a big tour for that, maybe from the end of 2017.”
