Blu Hydrangea is absolutely killing it on the dancefloor.
However, they’ve admitted that sometimes it can be tough to be so far away from their support system.
Last year, Blu got engaged to their partner and tells VIP Magazine that they “fully hit a wall because of Valentine’s Day”.
While their family and friends are down every Sunday to watch them take to the floor, other six days can be tough.
“This week, I fully hit a wall because of Valentine’s Day and my birthday,” Blu explains, after celebrating their 28th birthday on Thursday.
“Then I was sick, I was sick on Sunday through the show and then I’ve been sick all week so I just was in you know such a depressed like state of mind like oh I have no one down here and I’m sick!
“It’s my birthday and I want to celebrate with people but I feel a bit better and, and I just kind of appreciate that people are making the effort to come down and see me!”
They went on to say that they were surprised that anyone wanted to support them at all!
“Maybe it’s an Irish thing, but I’m kind of like, ‘Oh no one will support me it’s okay, but that’s okay. I’ll just try my best’. But, like, I’ve been so overwhelmed by the amount of people who have reached and said they’re watching and voting.”
Aw how sweet!
Blu has just bought a house outside Belfast with their fiancé, Johnson.
“It’s a little cottage in, in the countryside it’s a little cottage so cute, that’s my plan for the, the rest of 2024, after I’m finished here, I’m going to like, renovate this cottage to make it like, the gayest little cottage ever seen,” they tell us.

“Make sure you check it out, although there’s nothing on it, because I have been in Dublin since literally I bought the house so! But as soon as I get back up, yes, everything will be painted Candy floss, pink, absolutely!”
