Bláthnaid Treacy was feeling very brave this weekend as she headed to the airport with her two-month-old baby.
The 2FM presenter welcomed her first child, Nancy, in July of this year.
Now she is heading over to the UK to visit her best friend, Holly, who also became a mother for the first time in recent months.
It wasn’t an easy journey for Bláthnaid as she admitted baby Nancy cried the entire way to the airport.
“First girls trip! Nancy’s first time on a plane…pray for me,” she wrote as she shared a picture of her walking towards the airport.
“Nancy cried the whole way to the airport in the car…let’s hope we don’t have a repeat on the plane!”
Thankfully it looks like she had an easy trip through the airport as she revealed that Nancy fell asleep as she went through duty-free.
Thankfully, Nancy was settled in for the entire flight and didn’t pitch a fit on the flight. She slept through the trip across the sea!
“She slept the whole way…Jesus that could have been a very different story! Very thankful cuz I’m travelling solo!” she joked.
She was joining her best friend, Holly, to celebrate becoming mothers. The women both celebrated their baby shower together in Ireland earlier in the summer!
“We’ve known each other since we were four-years-old. She got married in August and then I was telling her that we were going to start trying for a baby and she said they were doing the same,” she told us.
“We were both sort of keeping in touch about it, but not prying because you need to be cautious and you don’t know what’s going on with other people. She lives in London and came home, but I knew I was pregnant then and sort of kept my distance a little bit because I didn’t want to say anything at the very beginning.
“She called over to see the place and said, ‘I have something to tell you’, and I was like ‘Oh my God, so do I!’ We both just started screaming, it was the cutest thing ever. It was such a lovely moment. To be going through it with her, just over a week apart, is kind of amazing. We’ve been texting each other loads, asking for advice.”
