Barry Keoghan’s star is just rising and rising.
The Dub just spent Sunday night at the Golden Globes, where he was nominated for Best Actor in a Drama.
Unfortunately, he missed out to Cillian Murphy.
However, he’s a BAFTA winner and he won’t be slowing down anytime soon. In fact, he’s looking to make his own film.

Speaking to GQ Magazine, he revealed that he is planning to make a movie based on his own life.
“It’s called The Cut Man. It’s about my upbringing,” he explained.
He goes on to say that the film, which is still in the very early stages is “sort of centered around my life”.
Barry grew up in Summerhill, Dublin. His mother, Debbie, sadly passed away from a heroin overdose when Barry was just 12 years old. He and his brother spent seven years in foster care, bouncing around 13 foster homes.

They eventually moved in with their grandmother, aunt, and older sister Gemma.
When asked about what he thinks about when he’s alone, he said: “Obviously, my mother. My mother, always. She’s many years passed now, but I always think about her anyway. It’s always just in and around achievements that it’s really prominent—’cause you’d like to celebrate that wit’ ’er, y’know?”
