Xposé star Aisling O’Loughlin has spoken about a mortifying red carpet moment with Hollywood star Anne Hathaway. The showbiz presenter was interviewing the Oscar winner recently at the premiere of her new movie ‘The Intern’, and was left embarrassed when Anne made it clear she wasn’t too impressed with her runny nose.
Aisling was feeling under the weather at the time and Les Miserables star Anne didn’t try to hide her disapproval after she shook her hand.
“I’m dying with a cold at the moment and I interviewed Anne Hathaway and Robert DeNiro the other day,” the TV3 host said.
“As soon as I shook her hand, she turned to her assistant and said ‘can I get some hand sanitiser please?’ Right in front of me.” Sounds more like something Anne’s boss in the Devil Wears Prada, – played by Meryl Streep – would do, right?
Thankfully, Aisling also got to chat with acting legend Robert DeNiro – and despite his bad reputation for grumpy interviews, the 36-year-old had a extremely pleasant experiece.
“The junkets can be a bit of a grind and with every questions I was trying to formulate in my head; I was worried I was going to piss him off,” she told the Herald.
“But they were fine, I even got a picture with him which I’m very proud of.”
