Aslan vow to continue with their planned tour dates, despite the poor health of two of its members.
The band’s frontman Christy Dignam is living with terminal cancer, while guitarist Fitzy has just been told that the liver cancer he was diagnosed with last year has returned.
However, Aslan have no plans to cancel any of their tour dates, as both men want to continue gigging. Guitarist and Harmonica player Billy McGuinness has told fans not to worry.
Speaking to the Independent.ie Billy said, “Don’t write Fitzy off. He’s fine. Sure he just got married at the weekend. The show is definitely going ahead.
“Look at Christy. He has no plans to stop. Not a bother on him. They’ll both be on tour with us.”
Aslan will play to a sold-out crowd at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre this Thursday, March 16th, and in the Iveagh Gardens on the 7th of July.
We wish both Fitzy and Christy well.
