Aoibhín Garrihy has revealed that some professional dance teachers have been sending her critiques of her performances on Dancing with the Stars.
Despite being the bookies’ favourite to take home the coveted the glitter ball, the former Fair City actress still receives her fair share of criticisms from the people who know best – although most of it is constructive!
“It’s all been really positive and of course people have their opinions on certain dances and I’m aware that there’s probably dance teachers and dancers at home tuning in.” she told the Irish Mirror.
“I know that there’s no pulling the wool over their eyes, we’re trying to create an illusion but we’re only given a week so it won’t be pro standard.
“I’ve had messages from a few dance teachers telling me to watch my feet or whatever, it’s gas.
“It’s certainly not getting any easier, it feels like a competition, whereas at the start it was definitely more like a party.
“I’m not really paying any attention to the bookies because you just don’t know what way it’s going to go, Des Bishop was the favourite too and you just don’t know what’ll happen.”
Now that the competition is drawing closer to the final, the 28-year-old admits she loved to be crowned the winner of the show.
“The longer I spend in the competition, the more I want to be there to the end, initially I thought I’d be delighted if I made it to week six.” she said.
“Of course I want to win it, I think everyone does.”
Watch Aoibhín strut her stuff on Dancing with the Stars this Sunday on RTE One at 6:30pm.
