With her classic “girl next door” looks, you’d think that Fair City star Aoibhín Garrihy would be a quiet, retiring and obedient wife in waiting… And judging by a picture she just posted on her Instagram account, you’d be dead wrong!
The bride-to-be, who will marry her boyfriend of five years, John Burke this September, hinted that he is in for a fiery time, as she posted a picture of Winona Ryder screaming at hen-pecked husband Marc Jacobs, from when the couple re-created an iconic scene from the famous movie Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? for Harper’s Bazaar magazine in 2011.
The original 1966 movie featured the husband and wife team of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, whose marriage collapses in an orgy of drink and raging arguments, and is perhaps the worst advertisement ever made for getting married! So we can only assume that Aoibhín was being slightly less than serious when she suggested to John that this is what lay in store for him!!
The loved-up couple posed for VIP just 2 months ago in beautiful County Clare, along with their puppy Rubie, and Aoibhín described how work often keeps them apart, though the strength of their bond overcomes this. “It’s not idea when I’m at home riding the dog, but he would do the same for me if something popped up. If you’re confident in your relationship, and there’s trust there, there’s nothing to worry about.”
So contrary to speculation, there will be absolutely, positively no arguing between the couple!
