Fair City star Aoibhín Garrihy is swapping Carrigstown for comedy after being cast in Ross O’Carroll-Kelly show Breaking Dad.
The actress will play the super glamorous South Dublin wife of main character Ross in writer Paul Howard’s latest comedy, set for the Gaiety Theatre next month.
Aoibhín will join fellow talents Roisin O’Neill and Emmet Byrne for the Dublin leg of the tour, and she is clearly buzzing about the news.
Taking to her Instagram, she posted: “When I should have been memorising To Kill a Mocking Bird as per the Jr Cert syllabus…it was Ross’s tales I could quote verbatim…
“So very excited to playing the legendary Sorcha in Landmark’s upcoming production of #breakingdad.”
The 28-year-old is best-known for her role as Neasa Dillion in the RTE soap, which she returned to for a special appearance in the show’s Christmas storyline.
It’s been an exciting few months for Aoibhín after her hotelier husband John Burke popped the question. The pair are currently planning their big day, set for September in the Armada Hotel, Spanish Point, Co. Clare, her beau’s hotel.
Speaking to VIP recently, she admitted that her wedding will be low-key, as the thought of an overly extravagant ceremony would make her “run a mile.”
