RTÉ has announced that Saturday night chat show, Angela Scanlon: Ask Me Anything will not be returning to our screens.

The popular chat show was fronted by Angela Scanlon, who is currently competing on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, which has caused a schedule conflict.

The channel confirmed the news to The Irish Mail on Sunday, saying: “Angela Scanlon’s Ask Me Anything is not due to return this season as Angela is currently taking part in Strictly Come Dancing.”

Rumours of the show’s peril began last month, when a source told The Irish Mail on Sunday: “Strictly takes nothing but total commitment. It can be exhausting and challenging, both physically and mentally. It requires total and utter dedication. Angela is well aware of this, and she intends to give it everything.”

RTÉ has not ruled out the show’s return in the future but are currently exploring new options to fill the vacant Saturday night slot.

The Meath woman made her debut on the Strictly dancefloor last night, and wowed the judges and audience a like.

The 39-year-old performed an “intense” tango with her pro-partner Carlos Gu, to Prisoner by Miley Cyrus featuring Dua Lipa.

Motsi Mabuse said the performance was “something special.”

Head judge Shirley Ballas predicted Angela would be “quite a force to be reckoned with.”
