Coldplay last played in Dublin in 2017 as part of their A Head Full Of Dreams Tour.
When the group began their world tour in March 2022, they advertised that they were attempting to make it as sustainable and low-carbon as possible.
According to the Coldplay website, they have been successful in their endeavours and have reduced their direct CO2e emissions by 59% so far, compared to their 2016/2017 tour. They have also planted seven million trees to aid the environmental impact of their tour.
MCD have posted a Coldplay public information notice on their website to give fans some guidance on arrival times, what to bring, and transport routes.
When and how to arrive
Concert goers are urged to arrive at least 45 minutes before the beginning of the show. Doors open at 5 PM. Fans are also advised to give themselves an extra three hours on either side of the journey in regard to traffic and road closures surrounding the stadium.
It is encouraged to make use of the numerous public transport options when travelling to Croke Park on these dates to avoid congestion.
Transport for Ireland have listed the public transport options available to arrive swiftly and safely to the gig.
There are colour-coded routes to different parts of the stand. It is noted that the backround colour of your ticket is your assigned route into the venue.
The Blue Route is for the Hogan Stand, The Red Route is for the Cusack Stand and Pitch B and C, Yellow is for the Devin Stand, and Green is for Pitch A.
What to bring and what is prohibited
Among the things prohibited in the event are bags larger than A4, professional cameras, your own alcohol, and umbrellas. The full list of banned items is available here.
The notice emphasises that the event will take place come “rain, hail or shine” so ticket holders are asked to dress appropriately for the very unpredictable Irish weather.
