Popular supermarket Aldi have been forced to recall a batch of one of their products, after an allergen alert was issued by the FSAI.
The German chain have revealed that due to an accidental mix up, a specific batch of almond extract has been mislablled as vanilla extract.
A spokesperson for Aldi stated that: “As a precautionary measure we are recalling a single batch of Moroccan Almond Extract as it has been incorrectly labelled as Madagascan Vanilla Extract.
“The product contains almond which is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to almonds.”
The batch that has been affected is batch: L 7058, with ‘best-before’ date: 12/12/17 and pack size: 38ml.
If you have purchased a product from this batch you will be entitled to a full refund.
