Alan Hughes and his husband Karl Broderick have paid emotional tribute to their close friend Brian O’Callaghan-Westropp who lost his life in Greece.
He and his new wife Zoe Holohan were on their honeymoon in Greece where wildfires that swept through the area.
Brian’s wife Zoe is in hospital in Athens being treated for burns.
At least 80 people have lost their lives as a result of the fires with dozens more injured.
TV3 star Alan and his husband had attended the couples wedding just a week before the tragedy.
He took to Instagram to share a photo of the special day with the couple.
“It felt odd to take to social media up to now, but it feels equally odd not to acknowledge and pay tribute to our lovely friend Zoe and her lovely husband Brian, who tragicly lost his life in Greece,” he said.
“A friendly, warm guy, ready with open arms for a bear hug, he was a gentleman. We cant believe it was this day last week that we shared in their beautiful wedding. Our hearts are breaking for Zoe, whos such a beautiful person……and indeed Brians Mother, their family and friends…Alan and Karl xxx”
