December 2022 – Rumours are sparked
In December of 2022, the rumour mill got turning when fans of Mark spotted Doireann in his Instagram story.
The comedian shared a snap of Doireann at Powerscourt hotel, leading fans to believe there was something going on.
Doireann wasn’t about to confirm any romantic link just yet though – the TV and radio host told Magazine + that she was single, and focusing on Dancing With The Stars.

“This whole year I have just been focused on friends and enjoying myself and because of that I have struck a better balance of working hard but also enjoying myself.”
We love this attitude – but we also love knowing that they were keeping their relationship lowkey at the start.
January 2023 – They confirm the relationship
In early January of this year, Doireann confirmed that she did, in fact, have a brand new boo!
The two went Instagram official when they revealed they were in fact enjoying a romantic getaway in Powerscourt the month before.

Showing off some cute snaps together in front of the Christmas tree, Doireann wrote “it’s been a time”.

March 2023 – We find out how they met
While we knew that this media personality pairing were officially cosied up, we still didn’t know how they had met in the first place!
In March of this year, Doireann revealed to the Sunday Independent that it was a classic case of an Insta DM slide. Obsessed.
“I followed him, I will admit. He followed me back. But he DM’d first. These are very important details,” she joked.

The 30 year old went on to gush about her partner. “He just completely gets what I do, is so supportive of it all, and I feel like I’m the same with him. Can bounce anything off him, and vice versa,” she confessed.
“He gets it. And he’s a great pep-talker…He just is the most naturally funny person I’ve ever met. And will find humour in anything.”

June 2023 – They move in together
Just a few months ago, the pair took a serious step in their relationship; – and they let it slip by accident!
While chatting on Doireann’s podcast, “Doireann and Friends”, Mark let slip that they had moved in together and were living in his south side apartment in Dublin.

The pair had a giggle about how his new roomie would cope, as it turns out Doireann can’t stand the birds round Mark’s place.
“I don’t know what I’m going to do about the seagulls on the south side…” she joked. “They make this awful noise. If it was throughout the night, you’d accept that it was torture.”
December 2023 – They get engaged
And finally, just as of today, Mark and Doireann are engaged!
