10 Minutes With…Marissa Carter

Marissa Carter

Marissa Carter is a busy woman.

But we absolutely love catching up with the tan mogul.

Here’s how we spent 10 minutes with Marissa!

Hi Marissa how are you?

I’m great thanks. I’m so excited to be back chatting about Creidim Ionat. I did it last year, I’ve kept up a few little changes yeah that – you know I started doing things like signing off my email as Gaeilge everywhere for everything so very, very rare that you’ll get an email off me now that doesn’t have a sign off as Gaeilge, whether it’s “tabhair aire” which translates to take care or “mile buiochas”, which is just many thanks! Just even saying thank you in the shop as Gaeilge – go raibh maith agat or go raibh mile math agat. Just those little things to try and incorporate in daily life which has been lovely.

So lovely! And it definitely must be handy to have when you’re helping your little ones with homework!

Yeah, no, definitely, it is very handy to have Gaeilge when you’re doing the aul Irish homework alright, very handy.

Who would play you in a movie?

I would be over the moon if it was Natalie Portman.

Picture: Miki Barlok

How would you spend your perfect day?

In the garden sun beaming wearing Cocoa Brown Sunshine Serum and probably doing a little bit of gardening. I’d have the pizza oven on friends and family all there with us and just having food, family, and friends out in nature, in my garden wearing my Sunshine Serum.

Who are your three ideal dinner guests?

David Attenborough for sure, Mo Gawdat, he was the head of Google X products. We’d be chatting about AI, we’d be chatting about nature and then I would have Jo Malone. We’d be talking all things beauty all things nature and then technology. I’m fascinated by the whole AI situation so I’d love that.

What is the best bit of advice you have ever received?

The best piece of advice I’ve ever received was from my mother and it was, “Go away out of that now, you’re well able”.

If you could erase a book from your memory and read it again for the first time, what would it be?

The Glass Castle by Jeanette Wals. It’s tragic and comic at the same time. An outrage story, one that will break your heart!

Are you bingeing anything at the minute?

I just finished Drive to Survive on Netflix! It’s very dramatic and I love a bit of drama!

You know your beauty inside out so what are your three dessert Island makeup products?

Without a doubt, your skin needs to glow so I would say Cocoa Brown Sunshine Serum, so I could look like a goddess on the island and SPF, of course. Maybe like the La Roche Posay SPF. I’m at that age now where I’m finding hairs where they shouldn’t be so tweezers maybe? [Laughs]

You’ve mentioned your fab Sunshine Serum! What are you working on next?

We have a new coco brown instant tan launching in just a couple of weeks! We haven’t had an instant tan in the range for a couple of years now so we’re really excited about that, and I think you know, just coming into the summer it’ll be lovely to have something that you can just throw on last minute even if its the case of you just want to tan your ankles for work or something last minute comes up and you want to go out. There’s nothing worse than getting that you know when you’re like oh I want to go out but I haven’t done my tan.
