Anna Daly is a busy woman! She tells us herself that she’s the proud mother to three boys and she is juggling three businesses as well.
You know what they say, good things come in threes!
Thankfully we had a bit more than three minutes with Anna to chat with her!
Hi Anna, how are you? Tell us about getting involved with Laya, why is this something you feel strongly about?
I’m great thanks! As a Laya Healthcare member myself (and a regular attendee at their urgent care clinics with my three sons!) I was delighted to officially open the Laya Health & Wellbeing Clinic in Swords, Co. Dublin recently. There are four Laya Health and Wellbeing Clinics nationwide, making it the fastest-growing urgent care network in Ireland.
With three busy, sporty boys I’ve found myself in the Laya Health & Wellbeing Clinic in Cherrywood Dublin MANY times – I fear the staff know me and my kids too well at this stage! However, it’s my go-to place to go when the boys have minor knocks, lumps, bumps, cuts or minor illnesses. It’s a no-brainer as a busy Mum – I’m in (and often out!) in 60 minutes, the laya doctors and nurses are so friendly and professional, and they always go the extra mile to make the boys feel assured and comfortable. The best part is the scans are all under the same roof – so whatever they need, X-Ray, MRI, ultrasound – it all gets done there and then. No long waiting around. There’s such peace of mind.
What is the first thing you did this morning?
Had a coffee! Kissed my kids (and husband) good morning. It’s Easter holidays so they’re off and work is rejigged a little for the holidays. Generated some ideas for occupying them!
Tell us how you would spend your perfect day.
It would probably be a beach day with my family in the Portuguese sunshine, hearing their laughter and feeling the heat of the sun and a light breeze. Long lunches with friends and I’d have no strict agenda, the best times are often enjoyed when you have the least expectations and no great plans. They’re my favourite days, unplanned and organic. I’d finish the day off with music, laid back cosy chats and an almond liqueur.
Who are your three ideal dinner guests?
Graham Norton (every party needs a diva and his stories are fabulous – one of my favourite people ever to interview) Princess Diana (can you imagine the chats?! So much to unearth!!) and Brad Pitt (obviously!).
What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?
No response is a response. Or I also like Michelle Obama’s line of ‘when they go low, we go high’.
Who is the person you look up to the most?
My Mam for her unending selflessness, kindness, sense of humour, work ethic and innate style.
What is the TV show that you wish you could watch for the first time again?
One of the few things my husband and I agreed on was Succession. What a super series, the characters, the settings, the dialogue. So, so good. I’d watch it all again from the start.
What are you bingeing at the minute?
One Day on Netflix is a beautiful story, I thought the actors were so perfectly cast. I hadn’t read the book and didn’t know about the ending. I’ll say no more. Separately, I really enjoyed Saltburn recently. Always liked Rosamund Pike as an actor but really loved her after watching her in that. Barry Keoghan was incredible too – another ending I wasn’t prepared for!!!
If you couldn’t be in your job right now, what would you be doing?
Currently, I have about four jobs so there’s no space for me to even invent another! I’m a broadcaster, a clothing company owner (Little Bliss) and we’ve just launched the Bliss Escape (a morning retreat) as well as my biggest gig, the Mum to three boys. I think if I were to take a new job I’d segue completely and become a race car driver! Very satisfying and my kids would finally think I’m a cool Mum!!
Where is your favourite place on earth?
At home with my family. Nowhere makes me happier. Every so often an adult’s break away in the sun is glorious and much needed however…
What’s on your bucket list?
Tokyo, Bali and India are right up there.
What are your three Desert Island makeup products?
Vaseline, Brow Aid tinted mascara for brows and Charlotte Tilbury legendary lashes mascara.
