There was shock yesterday when a very disheveled Jonathan Rhys Myers was spotted stumbling through a London street, swigging straight vodka out of a bottle in broad daylight.
The Irish actor, who has had a well documented battle with alcohol, appears to have once again fallen off the wagon.
According to The Sun On Sunday, Jonathan was initially refused alcohol when he tried to purchase the vodka, before “eventually leaving with two bottles.”
It’s believed that Jonathan has checked into rehab six times over the last number of years and he has also been arrested for drink related incidents.
The actor’s alcohol abuse became public knowledge when he checked into rehab in 2005 in Malibu, he would return to the same centre two years later for treatment.
He was again thrown into the spotlight in 2009 after he allegedly assaulted staff at a Paris airport while he was drunk.
After the Tudors actor lost his mother in 2007, he told the Mail On Sunday’s live magazine that his drinking had been blown out of proportion.
“I haven’t even thought about drinking since my mother passed away. Drinking is not the way forward for me at all,” he said.
“The whole drinking thing has been blown out of all proportion anyway”, he added.
The Corkman has yet to comment on the saddening photos but we’re hoping to see the 37-year-old back to his former self soon.
