Former Rose of Tralee Maria Walsh has spoken out about the difficulties of dating in Dublin.
She said that it’s very difficult to find a lesbian bar in the city.
Although there are a number of gay bars in the capital, Maria points out that they are mainly filled with men rather than women.
“It is not balanced. Whether it’s that lesbians aren’t out on the scene as much or we just don’t like being out in clubs and bars, it is really hard to find a lesbian bar. You have the George, but that’s predominantly gay men,” she told The Independent.
Dating isn’t really on Maria’s mind at the moment as she is focussing on work, and even admitted that she can’t remember the last time she went on a night out!
“I’m still single, I’m very much immersing myself in the business side so I’m not quite taking care of my personal life at the moment.
“I’m a bit of a loser when it comes to going out anyway, I can’t even tell you the last time I went out,” she said.
Meanwhile, Maria has been busy setting up her own wedding planning business.
