Louis Walsh may have been axed from The X Factor earlier this year, but Mayo man still has plenty to say about the show.

Simon Cowell made a lot of new changes to the talent competition this year in a bid to bring in new viewers, however the new mix-up has had the opposite effect – the ratings plummeted.

Louis thinks this drop in viewers is down to the fact people are missing him, and the previous host and fellow Irishman, Dermot O’Leary.

Speaking on Celebrity Juice, Louis admitted, “I have been watching. I think Dermot’s missed big time. I really do. I think the older people like me and Dermot. It’s not as good. I think they’re missing me and Dermot to be really honest with you.”

Louis also had some interesting thoughts on why Simon gave him the sack: “Simon’s got a new face himself. He wanted younger faces so he hired them. I was probably too old for the show.”

Meanwhile, the ex judge has been very vocal about how and why he thinks Strictly will win the ratings battle this year.
