The ever-ambitious Pippa O’Connor told us she hopes her blog will eventually get “millions of visitors” as she launched it’s brand new look at a glamorous party last night.
Pippa has teamed up with iZestInfluence for the makeover of her award-winning site pippa.ie, which she told us already has an incredible 35,000 unique viewers per day.
But that huge figure isn’t enough for the hardworking model, who told VIP she hopes her fashion and beauty blog keeps on growing.
“Who knows. I’d like it to be millions a month,” she said. “I do get good international reach but I want it to be even higher.”
Pippa, who looked stunning at her party in a Self Potrait dress from Cari’s Closet and Carvela heels from Brown Thomas, admitted she grafts hard for the site, which is now her second baby – along with 2-year-old Ollie!
“I’m putting my time in all day every day, seven days a week to this blog,” she told us. “From the minute I wake up to when I go to bed, I’m thinking of posts, or writing them, promoting on Facebook, everything.”
And with the constant updating of the site, as well as modelling, tv work, and running a family, we had to ask – how is the star, recently crowned Most Stylish Woman in Ireland at our Style Awards, not burning out?
“I’m always burned out,” she laughed. “That’s the truth – you are wrecked. People say ‘how do you it all’, but I just say it’s because I love it. You don’t care when you love something and you’re passionate about it. It’s my baby now and it’s grown into something so huge that I’m obsessed with it.”
The 30-year-old agreed that the blog market has become a huge phenomenon – but she thinks she stands out because of her relatable nature.
“I have just been myself and spoken about things that I like and wearing things that I actually like. It’s a bit obvious when you’re not actually doing you, and you’re being paid to promote something or whatever, it screams fake. I think people appreciate that if I say something, that’s my word.
“People like to know the face behind the site too, I think.”
Pippa’s launch in House, Leeson St., attended by the equally glam top model Rosanna Davison, comes after her site won both Best Fashion and Best Beauty Blog at the Irish Beauty Blog Awards – just 18 months after it first began.
