Last week it was announced that Aisling O’Loughlin had split from her longterm love Nick MacInnes, after seven years together.
Now the former TV3 star has spoken out for the first time since they’ve parted ways, admitting that they’ve been living separate lives for some time now, but hadn’t made the news public.
Speaking to the Herald Aisling said, “Yes, it’s out there and it’s fine because it’s the truth, we’re not together any more. I don’t want to live a lie either, but I just didn’t want to announce it.
“I wasn’t upset by it. You know what? It’s fine. It’s been that way for so long now, but we never announced it. We never wanted to make an announcement about it.
“Nothing has changed, really, we’re not fighting with each other. Thank God we didn’t have a fight.”
The mum-of-three also stated that the couple remain amicable, and that both herself and Nick’s main concern throughout their break-up has been their children, 5-year-old Patrick, 3-year-old Louis and 8-month-old Joseph.
“It’s different for every couple. He doesn’t live here any more but he still comes over most days. He made the children too so he gets to come over. We’re connected for life.”
“We have made these lovely children who we absolutely adore and they are our focus. We would do anything to make them happy,” she said.
