Disney has no shortage of new movies on the way in the next couple of years – but one that Irish people will have a special interest in is Artemis Fowl.

Adapted from the hugely popular book by Wexford man Eoin Colfer, the new movie is set to be released in August 2019.

Artemis Fowl is a 12-year-old genius who finds himself in a battle against a powerful, hidden race of fairies who may be behind his father’s disappearance.

You’ll be happy to know that an Irish actor has been cast as Artemis, so hopefully, we won’t be cringing over any dodgy Irish accents.

Ferdia Shaw plays the lead role in the film directed by Kenneth Branagh, with Judi Dench as Commander Root, Josh Gad as Mulch Diggums.

Will you be heading to the cinema to see this?
