She recently left her coveted job at E! News in LA, and now it seems she has returned to modelling in Dublin – but Ruth O’Neill insists it was a “once-off”.

The Dublin beauty posed in front of the camera yesterday, along with Jo Archbold, to showcase the new AW15 collection from boohoo.com, but the former Assets model said it won’t be a regular job for her.

“I haven’t modelled since I was 21 but I agreed to do this because I like the brand and love wearing it,” the 27-year-old admitted.

Instead, Ruth is patiently waiting on confirmation about an exciting new tv project; earlier this year, Evoke.ie reported that she is lined up as leading anchor of RTE pilot Bounce, an entertainment and music series expected to be commissioned later this year.

She recently spoke with the Irish Independent about why she left the ‘dream job’ to return to Ireland and admitted that living in the Los Angeles isn’t always as sunny as it may seem.

“I mean the lifestyle is amazing. But it’s aggressive too. I think people look at your Instagram and think . . . you know. No one’s life is as dreamy as their Instagram looks,” she said.

Ruth began her career on TV3 back in 2009 when she appeared on Total Xposure: a show to find Xpose’s newest presenter. She was a runner up on that, but still managed to land a brief presenting role on Xpose before setting her sights on the bright lights of LA.

She moved over to America and eventually began working for E! News, where she based herself for five years. “My dream was to work for E!.. I just kept asking people and emailing people and eventually I got an interview,” she admitted.
