Jamie-Lee O’Donnell shot to fame as Michelle in Derry Girls.

The feisty teen became a fan favourite in the hugely successful series.

But Jamie-Lee admits that she can’t wrap her head around the popularity of the comedy series.

Speaking to STELLAR Magazine, she confessed: “I’ve never been prouder of anything in my life work-wise, especially that last episode and the reflection of my community.

“But I don’t think I’m at the point where I can fully grasp the impact, my brain isn’t letting me do it yet.”

Jamie-Lee grew up in Derry so the series has an extra special place in her heart.

And it also helped her find her best friend, Saoirse Monica Jackson who also is from the Walled City.

“Our schedules seemed to sync up and our friendship built from there. We’re just always in touch,” she tells the publication’s September issue.

While she doesn’t get to see her other co-stars Nicola Coughlan, Louisa Harland and Dylan Llewellyn as much as Saoirse, they are all still friends and cheering each other on from the sidelines.

We just adore these Derry Girls!
