Is it any surprise what Ireland’s favourite Christmas song is?
There’s plenty to choose from but there is one that stands head and shoulders above the rest.
Christmas FM has revealed that the nation’s favourite song is Fairytale of New York.
It is followed by the festive classic Last Christmas by Wham!, of course!
The news is no surprise given the sad passing of Shane MacGowan on 30th November, and the subsequent outpouring of love and praise for the well-known singer-songwriter and musician.
Elsewhere in the survey, it was found that the top fantasy Christmas dinner guests included Uachtarán Michael D Higgins, Colin Farrell and Niall Horan.
We don’t blame them for his one!
As for Christmas movies, well Home Alone has once again won the battle for the most festive movie!
30 per cent of people have said it puts them in the Christmas Spirit, while only six per cent consider Die Hard to be a Christmas classic.
We won’t even get into the controversy on that one!
