Cork artist announced as fifth Eurovision hopeful

The competition within Ireland to represent the country on the Eurovision stage is heating up.

Yes, we have just learned who the fifth hopeful will be and we’re excited.

So far this week, we have learned that Erica-Cody, Ailsha, JYellowL and Isabella Kearney are hoping to take to the Eurovision stage.

Now a Cork artist is throwing their hat in the ring.

Bambie Thug joined Ray D’arcy on Thursday to share that they will be bringing their own flavour to their Eurovision song.

Bambie Thug’s song is entitled Doomsday Blues, a relatable title to say the least!

The non-binary artist is a force to be reckoned with, a completely independent artist who has amassed over 45k monthly listeners via their unique, self-styled Ouija Pop.

Known for incredible live performances, Bambie was most recently seen on stage at the packed-out Download Festival Debut.

They are also a prolific songwriter with amassed streams of 60 million on music written for other artists of varying genres, instrumentals in some of the UK’s biggest nu-gen hits, and inclusion on HBO’s Sex And The City reboot Just Like That.

The final act will be announced on The Ray D’Arcy Show on Friday.
