Christy Dignam’s daughter shared a heartfelt thanks to fans for their support following the singer’s tragic death.

Christy passed away earlier this month after living with a rare blood disease, amyloidosis, a disorder which leads to the protein amyloid building up in the organs.

The singer also developed multiple myeloma, a type of bone marrow cancer.

Christy was laid to rest surrounded by his family on Saturday in his beloved hometown of Finglas.

While the family announced that his funeral would be private, there was a public service beforehand with thousands of mourners taking to the street.

Kiera shared a beautiful video thanking those who paid respect to her father.

She also wanted to thank everyone for the cards, messages, sandwiches and stories about her father.

“I just wanted to thank you for the support we’ve been shown over the last week and a half. For the cards, messages, stories, and sandwiches, and time people have given us,” she said in the video.

“I didn’t want to share that day with anybody. I wanted it to be just for us.”

She admitted that she was nervous about sharing his funeral with the world but was thankful that she did.

“I felt that I shared him my whole life and I didn’t want that day to be about everybody else. We had to respect the public and respect the fans by letting everybody know that he had passed.”

She admitted that she and her family had no idea about the amount of support her father and their family got the day of the funeral until they were told later on.

“I knew I was going to have to share him for one more day and I’m glad I did. If I stuck to my guns, we would’ve missed what we had on Saturday,” she explained.

“Words can never describe what we experienced on Saturday.”

Rest in Peace, Christy. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
