21st birthdays are a big deal, but they are an even bigger deal when your favourite band comes to perform at it.
Brianna O’Connell was left gobsmacked when Nicky Byrne, Mark Feehily, Shane Filan and Kian Egan turned up at her front door to help her celebrate the milestone.
Yes, Westlife decided to ditch arenas and play for Brianna in her own home.
The birthday girl was treated to the private concert after her aunty, Sandra O’Connell, won a competition in 2020 as part of RTÉ Does Comic Relief.
Two years later she decided to cash in on the prize to celebrate her niece’s birthday. What a sweet gesture.
“Brianna’s 21st birthday was cancelled because of the pandemic,” she explained.
“Brianna has been an avid Westlife follower since she was a baby and went to every concert, all the Dublin ones and Belfast gigs, anywhere she could go she went.”
The band arrived to Brianna’s house with a bouquet of flowers in hand which they offered to the birthday girl. They then headed around the back of her house to the marquee where her family and friends were waiting for her.
The boys didn’t disappoint as they sang their hits to the intimate crowd who sang and danced along with them.
This special gig comes ahead of the band’s dates at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on 8 and 9 July and Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork on 12 and 13 August.
The last time they performed in Ireland they took to the stage in Croke Park to the delight of Westlife’s die hard fans.
Now they are set to make their own dreams come true by performing on stage at Wembley as part of their latest tour.
