Ailbhe Garrihy has opened up about her exciting wedding plans.
The PR guru got engagement last Christmas when boyfriend Ruaidhri Herir popped the question at Hook Lighthouse in Wexford.
Chatting about her upcoming nuptials, the star reveals the wedding is less than a year and a half away.
“We are having an autumn wedding, so we are getting married in October 2019,” she said on Instagram.
Her eldest sister Aoibhin got married in Clare in 2016, with Ailbhe and younger sister Doireann as bridesmaids, and Ailbhe revealed there is a significance to the county for her too.
“We are getting married down in Clare because my family are obviously from there, as are Ruaidhri’s,” she explained.
“I won’t reveal the venue just yet because I like to keep it a secret, but it will be in Clare.”
The 28-year-old also revealed that she and her future husband chose her ring together.
“We chose the engagement ring together, the engagement was obviously a big surprise at Christmas time, and Ruaidhri proposed with a really nice token ring which I still wear every day. I absolutely love it and it means a lot to me, but we went after that and chose the engagement ring together in Dublin the next day and we found the ring in Appleby’s and I am in love with it.”
Anyone who follows Ailbhe, or her sister and housemate Doireann, will be familiar her gorgeous dog Bobby, so followers will be happy to know that the pooch ‘will, of course, have a roll to play’ in the big day.
“Of course Eugene (dad) is walking me down the aisle if he can hold it together,” she joked
When it comes to dresses on the day, 2018’s VIP Style Awards most Stylish Newcomer isn’t too worried.
“I haven’t chosen the dress yet, I said I’d start looking a year out, which is October.
“I’m very relaxed about bridesmaid dresses, obviously it’ll be nice if they are all the same colour, but if they are different styles I wouldn’t mind.”
The star also revealed that she will turn 30 the day before they tie the knot, making it a double celebration.
