Today marks two years since Robbie Brady scored that infamous goal against Italy in the 2016 Euro’s, sending Ireland through to the last 16 in the competition for the first time ever, and sending the country into jubilation!
The moment will go down in history as one of Ireland’s greatest sporting moments, and none of us will ever forget the scenes after Robbie hit the back of the net five minutes from the final whistle.

Conor McGregor, a man who knows a good win when he sees it, was over the moon when Ireland scored their goal. “YESSSS GET IN THERE!!!,” he said. “McLean is an ANIMAL! Ref is a rat. Brady, what a f***ing header. BUZZING! COME ON YOU BOYS IN GREEN!!!!”
One Direction’s Niall Horan was elated after the match, and took to Snapchat to share a video of himself and his pals celebrating.
Storm Keating said, “Woohoo for Ireland! Nice win guys, congrats! #COYBIG #EURO2016”, while her hubby Ronan commented, “Nice to finally wake up in Oz to an Irish win in the euros. Congrats to all.”
Shane Filan wrote, “OMG!!! Cmonnn IRE! #Unreal”, and his former Westlife teammate Nicky Byrne said, “One of the best nights in Irish football. Scrapped, battled for everything.
Robbie Brady from a fellow Baldoyle man, thank you!” Bressie found himself slightly emotional and said, “Ah lads. Snot fest. Robbie Brady interview sponsored by Kleenex.”

The goal hero’s new wife Kerrie Harris posted a sweet picture to social media the following day, revealing she was “Literally the proudest woman in Ireland right now.”
The happy couple are currently enjoying their well deserved honeymoon after they tied the knot in Adare Manor in Co. Limerick two weeks ago, and celebrated with family, friends and Robbie’s Ireland teammates.
