Despite being in talks with RTE about his own talent show, Louis Walsh has been in touch with Simon Cowell over an X Factor return, and could be signing a whooping £800,000 deal.
The Irishman is keen to return to the show, and according to the Irish Mirror, ITV bosses have provisionally offered him the job.
Louis opened up to the newspaper recently, saying: “If Simon asked me back, and I thought it would be fun, then absolutely I would.
“If he wants the dream team then he gets me, him, Sharon Osbourne, and either Mel B or Nicole Scherzinger.”
Louis also revealed that while he wasn’t an official judge last year, he’d still phone Simon after the show to give his verdicts.
“I’ve had a year off and it’s been great, but I used to watch it and ring Simon after and tell him exactly what I thought was wrong with the show.
“He used to hate it. Simon needs to make a lot of changes, but he knows this,” he said. The news comes shortly after it was revealed that Dermot O’Leary has also been in talks with Simon Cowell about signing a new three year deal for the show.
An insider told The Sun, “Dermot will come back to The X Factor. Talks are under way on his deal, but everything is positive. Everyone, including Dermot and Simon, has the will to make it work.”
