It truly is the end of an era.
Downton Abbey is coming to a close with a third and final film.
Of course, the whole cast will be returning for one last time. Including our very own Allen Leech.
So make sure that you have your tissues at the ready.

The synopsis for the film reads: “Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, the cinematic return of the global phenomenon, follows the Crawley family and their staff as they enter the 1930s. As the beloved cast of characters navigates how to lead Downton Abbey into the future, they must embrace change and welcome a new chapter.”
The final flick will hit cinemas on September 12th.
Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Robert James-Collier, Joanne Froggatt, Allen Leech, Penelope Wilton, Lesley Nicol, Michael Fox, Raquel Cassidy, Brendan Coyle, Kevin Doyle, Harry Hadden-Paton, Sophie McShera, Douglas Reith and Dominic West return for the final film.
Fans will also be introduced to Paul Giamatti, Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale, Arty Froushan, and many other fan favourites.
Of course, the last chapter will pay tribute to Maggie Smith, who played Lady Violet Crawley. Violet passed away in the second film while Maggie Smith sadly passed at the age of 89 in 2024.
We’re sure The Grand Finale will be the perfect goodbye!
