In light of Thalia Heffernan’s terrifying mugging, Vogue Williams has come out to talk about her own experience.

The presenter has said that she was robbed by a group of teenagers when she was 18 years old, and the experience isn’t one she has been able to forget.

The RTE star is still nervous around groups when she’s walking alone in the City Centre.

Writing about it in her Sunday World column, Vogue said, “I actually find being alone in the city can be quite intimidating at night. I was mugged by a group of teenagers when I was about 18 and it honestly still makes me feel nervous if I’m alone around groups like that.”

She went on to say,” It really is scary the extent people will go to and it honeslty still makes me feel nervous.”

From her own experience, the presenter can empathise greatly with how Thalia is feeling these days.

“Thalia Heffernan was also recently mugged in the city centre when a group stole her bag and hit her. I think we need to work on making Dublin a safer place to be, but unfortunately these crimes happen in every country so it’s hard to stop them,” she said.
