RTÉ pundit Ursula Jacob welcomes first child

Congratulations are in order for RTÉ pundit Ursula Jacob as she has welcomed her first child.

The presenter announced that she had welcomed a baby girl on Twitter with some beautiful pictures of her tot.

“One week of knowing you, One week of cuddling you, One week of loving you!” she wrote on social media.

She went on to share that she and her husband Brendan Cruise had decided on a traditional name for their little one.

“Beautiful Brídín Fiona Cruise arrived safely into the world on Sunday 9th October weighing a whopping 8lbs 10oz! She is absolutely perfect!”

Ursula publicly announced her pregnancy this summer, although the news was marred by the fact she was defending herself from trolls.

“I was in Wexford hospital for an antenatal appointment, currently pregnant,” she told South East Radio after the statement was shared on social media.

“And I was sitting in the waiting area and I started writing, what effectively became my statement that I put out last night.”

She and her husband Brendan married in a gorgeous ceremony in her native Wexford in December of last year.

The couple tied the knot in St. Patrick’s Church in the village of Oulart before moving onto Riverside Court Hotel in Enniscorthy for the evening reception.
