VIP was among a select group of press and bloggers that attended a special Urban Decay dinner and getaway in Tankardstown House, Slane yesterday evening.
We headed down to Co. Meath along with stars such as Pippa O’Connor and Suzanne Jackson to check out UD’s new summer collection – and we were not disappointed.
The limited edition products look even more fabulous in person than the snaps that have been circulating social media over the past month (packaging goals) and we were seriously impressed when we actually got to try them out.
Here are our top picks – all available in Debenhams from tomorrow.
Beached Bronzer, €29.00
It wouldn’t be summer without a healthy glow, right? It can be hard to find the right bronzer – one that doesn’t leave you looking like an Oompa Loompa – but this little beauty gives a gorgeous, natural look thanks to its micro-milled powders. Because of its super-soft, silky formula, it applies smoothly and doesn’t streak, and its HPP (Highlighter Performing Pigments) Technology ensures that it’s a colour that lasts.
Afterglow Highlighter, €28.00
We don’t know about you guys, but we are obsessed with highlighter and the phenomenon that is strobing. Urban Decay’s new Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighter, which is available in three shades, was inspired by the brand’s popular Fireball Eyeshadow. “We couldn’t stop using this trippy duotone as a highlighter, so we developed a mellower version of that shade in our Afterglow formula. To complete the threesome, we created two other shades inspired by bestselling UD shadows—Sin and Aura,” UD explain to us. The resulting product has a lightweight (yet luxurious) feel and a super-soft, creamy texture, which goes on sheer and blends easily – perfect for that glowy, strobed look.
24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil, €19.50
We tried this out in shade ‘Walk of Shame’, a versatile nude, which we applied in the waterline and around the eye – which gave an instant eye-opening effect, with all-over brightening. The other shade, ‘Heartless’, is a light frosted pink which can also be used as an eyeliner to highlight for an illuminated look. Curious as to how it lasts 24/7? UD loaded the highly saturated pencils with moisturizing ingredients, including jojoba oil, vitamin E and cottonseed oil. This waterproof formula applies easily and stays creamy for blending – and once the color dries down, it won’t budge! Ideal for those busy work days or late nights out, eh?
Naked Skin One & Done, €32.00
Ah the struggle of summer make up – you don’t want to wear too much as the warmer months approach, but you still want that coverage on your skin. Enter the new UD Hybrid Complexion Perfector… This multitasking cream combines all the benefits of skin treatment and protection (It’s SPF 20!) with the coverage of a sheer foundation, which blurs imperfections and evens out the skin tone. With six shades, there’s a good choice for you to find the right match – although the product is a little dark, so we recommend going for a lighter shade than you usually would.
