Vogue Williams has hit out at the US president, Donald Trump, after his announcement yesterday.
In a series of tweets, Trump stated that transgender people would no longer be accepted in the military, blaming “the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail”.
This announcement was met with backlash from people all over the world including TV presenter Vogue Williams.
The star has made a number of documentaries in the past, including one which focuses on transgender issues.
She took to Instagram today to brand Trump as ‘evil’ following the news.
The photo uploaded on her account had the words “Trans people are not a burden” written over and over.
“I am absolutely disgusted by the words of Donald Trump, what a disgrace of a person,” the caption began.
“Trans people are people, nothing else and certainly not a burden.
“I honestly feel so upset by this complete drivel that one stupid man has come out with. Discrimination, inequality, unfair, evil….just a few words to describe his moronic decisions.
“Our world will never become a kinder accepting place with that kind of attitude. I stand by the wonderful trans community”
