The former The Saturdays star has landed a hosting gig for a new Saturday night music show on RTE.
Una will co-host the show with musician Loah, according to the Irish Mirroe Una said, “I love to be co-presenting because it’s a whole different dynamic. We bounce off each other and it’s like… Girl Power.”
She also revealed that working on the show is reminding her of her days in The Saturdays, “I feel like I’m in a girl band again…It’s great, because I came from being in The Saturdays – a group of five completely different girls – and it just worked…And I love to be part of a team. That’s one thing about being solo. I miss that element of having the girls and someone to bounce off.”
Kicking off on Saturday the 24th of July, the show will see some of Ireland’s best and most loved performers joining the hosts every Saturday evening from The Round Room at the Mansion House.
The show will feature Irish Women in Harmony, Mick Flannery, The Saw Doctors, Soda Blonde, Niamh Regan, Rhiannon Giddens and Kodaline, to name a few! The two co-hosts are expected to perform duets across the series too.
Speaking about the show Una said, ““I was so excited to be asked to co-host The Heart of Saturday Night and getting to do it alongside the incredibly talented Loah was a joy. We had such a brilliant time filming and it’s an experience I’ll never forget. I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
Loah added, “The Heart of Saturday Night is a musical dream come true. Co-presenting with Una has been a great pleasure and it’s been wonderful to hear and chat to all the incredible musicians throughout the series. I’m honoured to be part of the show and look forward to sharing our joy with the audience!”
It sounds like it will be really something special, we can’t wait to watch!
