Twitter reacts to Jedward shaving their heads for charity on the Late Late

As if we couldn’t love Jedward enough, the lads shaved their heads on last nights Late Late Show for charity. Friday’s program was dedicated to The Irish Cancer Society as for the second year running they have bene unable to run their usual Daffodil Day due to Covid restrictions.

Instead, viewers were encouraged to donate online and over the phone yesterday evening throughout the program. During the week Irish twins Jedward revealed that they would be shaving off their iconic quiffs in aid of the charity and in honour of their mother, Susanna who passed away from cancer in 2019.

Although the lads of course had us in stitches laughing (shoutout to their rendition of Sinead O’Connor’s ‘Nothing Compares To You’ halfway through) they also reminded viewers that it was their way of showing solidarity with anyone going through cancer treatment.

“I just want to say thanks to all the country for donating,” said John.

“It’s just the unity the country needed right now and it’s for such a great cause. It’s an exhilarating feeling just to be here.”

But can you imagine Jedward without the hair?! Edward said himself; “We’ve had this hair for over 10 years.”

“It’s part of our identity, I don’t think we’d be here today if we didn’t have the hair but this is the first time we’re going to have our hair like this since the beginning of Jedward.”

Ever since they first appeared on our screens back in their X Factor days the lads have had their huge and iconic quiffs, but we actually love their new look without them.

Tubridy suggested that this was a fresh start for the singers to which Edward added; “This is the grown-up Jedward.”

Twitter was filled with praise for the boys, with the whole nation being so proud of their decision!

You can still donate to Daffodil Day here.
