Tolü Makay is a bundle of sunshine. She lights up a room as soon as she walks into it.
It makes sense, she is a Leo.
She spent the first part of the year in the dance studio for Dancing with the Stars, where she made it to the final. While the Rose of Tralee, Katelyn Cummins, ultimately lifted the Glitterball Trophy, Tolü is proud that she managed to make it all the way in the tough competition.
“I didn’t even think it was possible to get to the final. It was such a huge achievement for me, as soon as I got there I was like, ‘I did it! Everyone I actually did it! I completed the task.’,” she jokes as we chat to her at the launch of this year’s Platinum VIP Style Awards.

“It was such a joy, it was so surreal, I just couldn’t believe it. I was really, really proud of myself.”
But now with the gruelling practice schedule of Dancing with the Stars behind her, what does the singer have on the cards?
“‘m really excited about the things I have coming up, like my tour at the end of the year. Life after Dancing with the Stars is just bliss. We’re in summer now and I’m like, ‘Yes, let’s be in sunshine.’,” she tells us.

“I literally just announced my tour. We’ve only announced 10 days so far, and it’s in different cities and different counties across Ireland. There will be more announced; it’s going to be a show. I’m to have my band with me. It’s going to be one not to miss.”
And she will “absolutely” but putting her Dancing with the Stars knowledge into good use when she goes on the road!
“Now that I have Dancing with the Stars in my resumé I have to incorporate it in some way. I’m not going to be doing a whole eight count, none of that. But I will definitely be doing a few steps, for sure!” she teases.
