Ireland waited with bated breath to find out what Irish stars would be nominated for the 2025 Emmy Awards.
Names and shows had been bandied about for weeks now.
However, it ended up with three stars being nominated.
Sharon Horgan was nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category for her work in Bad Sisters.

The actor was also nominated in the category last year for her portrayal of Eva Garvey in the beloved black comedy series.
She’s going up against Kathy Bates (Matlock), Britt Lower (Severance), Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us) and Keri Russell (The Diplomat).
Colin Farrell is hoping to continue his winning streak as he has received a nomination for his role in The Penguin.
He picked up the nod in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category.

He has already won a Golden Globe, a SAG Award and a Critics Choice Award for his titular role in the comic book TV show. However, this is his first Emmy nomination.
Ruth Negga is the final Irish star nominated for an award.
She received a nomination in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie category for her role in the Apple TV series Presumed Innocent.

This is Ruth’s second Emmy nomination, having earned a nod at the Daytime Emmy Awards in 2019 for the animated programme Angela’s Christmas.
The awards will take place in the States on September 14th.
