1916 Easter Rising Parade
To make the centenary of the 1916 Rising, a parade will take place in Dublin city on Sunday. The ceremony will start with a reading of the 1916 proclamation outside the GPO, the President will lay a wreath for the people of Ireland and then there will be a parade led by the Defence Forces.
Easter Egg Hunt
Head along to Blackrock Community Centre this Saturday for an easter egg hunt, followed by tea and coffee. Not only is there chocolately treats galore up for grabs, but there’s also prizes up for grabs on the day, including that for best costume. It’s free, and suitable for children, adults – and even dogs are allowed! Count us in.
1916 Cocktails
The Rising-themed cocktail menu in The Westin sound amazing – and the location is the perfect setting for a slice of history as it is located in an old bank vault which was once a Royal Irish Constabulary station where Michael Collins was held.
