The 20 most-watched shows on TV in 2017 have been revealed.
The TAM report looked at all channels available to Ireland (over 800) and found that viewers favour Irish content.
RTE revealed that every one of the most watched shows aired on either RTÉ One or RTÉ2.
It will come as no surprise that The Late Late Toy Show was the most viewed programme in 2017, proving yet again it’s hugely popular among all ages.
The Toy Show had an average audience of 1.35m and a 70 percent share of the available audience.
Sport also came out high in the ranks, with 11 of the top 20 shows being sporting events.
Dancing with the Stars, Mrs Brown’s Boys Christmas Special and The Late Late Show were also among the most popular shows.
During Storm Ophelia in October, Irish viewers turned to RTÉ News from the time the Status Red warning was given ahead of the Nine O’Clock News on Sunday 15 October making it the sixth most-watched programme of the year and most watched news bulletin of 2017 with 846,000 viewers.
