The Late Late Show returned to our screens last night for the first time since it’s summer break, and it was back with a bang!
Olympic silver medalists Paul and Gary O’Donovan appeared on the programme last night to tell host Ryan Tubridy all about their time in Rio, and what it’s been like since returning home.
The two brothers told Ryan about their new found fame in Ireland and how they’ve been handling it, saying that they can’t even go outside their door without being recognised now.
“People are asking have our feet come back down to earth yet, they won’t let us though!
“We had no idea it was going to happen. It’s just amazing that the people of Ireland are happy about it and we’ve been blown away by their support.
“We’re afraid to leave home! Someone spots you and you’ll be wearing a cap and glasses and They’ll pull at you and drag you and then someone else sees you and it’s just a domino effect,” they said.
Well it seems that the craic was only getting started in RTE last night, because when the show ended Gary and Paul along with other guests Al Porter, Michael Conlon, Annalise Murphy and even Ryan Tubridy, went along to the infamous Copper Face Jacks to continue the party.
They all celebrated in style with champagne, and judging by the snaps from inside the club, it was a great night.
It was a well deserved celebration for the Olympic athletes, we hope Coppers lived up to their expectations!
