The Wolfe Tones announced that they would be retiring from touring this year.
But you can’t keep a good band down, so they announced one more show for 2025.
They will play Thomond Park Stadium in Limerick next July.
Tickets went on sale on Monday morning, with fans scrambling to secure a space.
Tickets for The Wolfe Tones’ monumental Thomond Park Stadium show sold out within minutes of going on sale.
Fans who missed out were quick to demand a second date from the band, so they would get one last chance to see them perform.
The Wolfe Tones Brian Warfield reflected on this remarkable outpouring of love from fans: “We have been completely overwhelmed by the response to our Thomond Park Stadium show, which sold out in record time!
“We are truly humbled by the incredible demand to see The Wolfe Tones live, and it’s an honour to bring our music to such an iconic venue. We will talk to everyone involved to look at a possible second date for Thomond Park Stadium.”
After an incredible journey spanning over six decades, the band will bid the final farewell to their fans with this major outdoor concert in what promises to be an unforgettable night in Limerick and their last Irish show.
As one of Ireland’s most legendary and iconic groups, they performed on the main stage at the 2024 Electric Picnic, which drew the largest ever recorded crowd and sold out three shows at Dublin’s 3Arena plus Belfast’s SSE Arena, the demand to see The Wolfe Tones one final time has been nothing short of tremendous.
