The VIP List: Here’s what we’re loving this week!

We can’t believe that summer is coming to an end!

We are in full back to school mode here in VIP HQ and bidding farewell to the sunny weather. But that doesn’t mean that we don’t have plenty to love this time of year.

Here’s what we’ve been obsessed with this week.

Weekend editor Sláine is loving…Addison Rae

When Addison Rae’s first single Obsessed dropped, it was not well received, but from day one it was a guilty pop-pleasure of mine, so when she announced her first EP, titled AR, would be dropping, I was ecstatic!
And it did not disappoint, delivering pure pop-bliss, it’s fun, catchy, and a bit tongue-in-cheek.

2 die 4 has been all over TikTok after it was leaked earlier this year, but it’s back and better than ever, with the official version even featuring Charli XCX…pure pop heaven right there.

Honestly, all the singles live up to the hype, and as a Britney Spears devotee, I’m loving all the references. Am I probably too old to be singing the chorus of 2 die 4 at random intervals? Yes, will I continue to do so? Also yes.

Commercial & Events Director Rebecca is loving…Domino’s Garlic and Herb Dip

You simply can’t have a Domino’s with the Garlic and Herb dip.

To celebrate how beloved the dip is the pizza chain created a limited-edition Garlic & Herb Dip inspired fashion collection, along with its very own ‘Big Dip’ Plunge Pool!

Made in Chelsea and Love Island royalty, Sam Thompson and Zara McDermott, launched the new range, which includes a summer shirt, bikini and swim shorts. Sam donned the stylish bikini whilst sitting in the Big Dip Plunge Pool eating pizza from the first ever Domino’s floating pizza box. Alongside him, Zara modelled the new collection shorts and shirt.

The Big Dip Plunge Pool will be available in limited numbers for pizza lovers to take a literal ‘dip’. The perfect accessory for a hot date night or summer pool party.

To say I’m obsessed is an understatement!

Digital Editor Bronwyn is loving…Annie

Is there anyone who doesn’t love Annie? I would watch the 1982 version on repeat as a child. (I won a video tape of it in an art competition and it was worn out!)

I would sing and act out parts of the iconic musical as a child. Now my nine-year-old sister is in the exact same boat. Although she is a big fan of the 2014 version.

Both of us were very excited when we learned that Annie would be coming to the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre this month. We headed up this week and we both had the best time watching it.

As much as I enjoyed it, I think her review puts it better: “That was better than the film. I won’t ever forget this day!”

The Smash Hit Production stars Strictly Come Dancing Judge Craig Revel Horwood as the tyrannical Miss Hannigan. The gorgeous revival is in Dublin until the 3rd of September and you can grab tickets here.

Staff Writer Anja is loving…Theatre Camp (The Movie)

I hate to say it but I am a theatre kid. Now before you judge me, I’m not a theatre kid in an annoying way, in fact, I never actually attended drama class until I was fifteen years old. However, I have always had a passion for the performing arts world. I was also a shy kid, so for me acting and performing was a a way of pushing myself outside of my comfort zone. And like many children in the film Theatre Camp, I too attend a performing arts summer camp, so safe to say I could highly relate to this mockumentary-style movie.

Theatre Camp follows the eccentric staff members of an upstate New York theatre camp after they must band together when their beloved founder falls into a coma. Starring the likes of Ben Platt, Molly Gordon, Kimmy Taro, Noah Glavin and Ayo Edebiri, the film is full of laugh-out-loud and deeply charmed moments. And for those who aren’t into theatre, don’t worry as the film also takes the mick out of itself – which is highly enjoyable to watch.

So what are you waiting for? Theatre Camp is out in cinemas today and I honestly couldn’t think of a better way to spend 90 minutes this weekend.
