The VIP List: Here’s what we’re loving this week

August is here!

Where has the time gone?

We’ve been enjoying some of the sunshine this week. Here’s what else we’ve been loving!

Digital Editor Bronwyn is loving… sun protection

I might just be the palest person to ever grace this planet. And as such, I get sunburnt pretty easily.

I’m a big fan of suncream of course, but I was recently introduced to sun protective clothing. Yes, you read that right you can get clothes with 50+ UPF protection.

I’m a huge fan of Kathmandu’s Sun Stopper hoodies. They’re lightweight material, so they’re perfect for hikes or time spent outdoors.

Consider me obsessed!

Head of Commercial and Events Rebecca is loving…date night

If you are looking for somewhere glam for date night or to celebrate a special occasion, you have to check out Dublin’s newest restaurant, Floritz on Dublin’s Stephen’s Green.

From mirrored ceilings, lush plants & botanical interiors to intimate booths and banqueting style tables all centred around an opulent gold bar – the decor really will blow you away.

This week I was lucky enough to be invited in to try their Fuller tasting menu which costs €85 per person and includes everything from crudo and sushi to skewers, bowls, wagyu and dishes from the hibachi grill. I have to admit the tasting menu is definitely for those that have a slightly more adventurous palate but definitely a fun and delicious way to try a bit of everything they have to offer.

They also have an excellent à la carte menu which has something to suit everyone. But if you do venture to Floritz, you have to try their signature spicy margarita – hands down the BEST cocktail I have ever had.

You can find out more here.

If there’s anything better than an evening of good food and great shows, then I’d like to hear about it.

This week, myself and my mam went to see 2:22: A Ghost Story in the 3Olympia, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of brilliant.

Starring Laura Whitmore, Shona McGarty, Jay McGuinness, and Collin O’Donoghue, the show considers whether ghosts are real, the reality of belief, and what happens when you’re confronted with the seemingly impossible.

Expertly written by BBC’s Danny Robbins, the show explores the nuances of the supernatural, and asks whether we’re ready to dive into the unknown, no matter how terrifying it might be.

2:22 is only running until August 11 in Dublin, so make sure you grab your tickets while you still can – and be sufficiently spooked!

Digital Editor Bronwyn is loving… healthy hair

Have I mentioned that I’m on a haircare journey? Maybe once or twice!

Well now I am all about working on my hair from the inside out.

Enter Altrient C!

A recent independent clinical study conducted by Princeton Consumer Research UK highlights the remarkable benefits that Altrient C can have on hair. Participants took 2 sachets (2,000mg) of Altrient Liposomal Vitamin C a day for 12 weeks and here is what the data revealed:

  • 37.5% reduction in hair loss
  • 50% reduction in broken hairs
  • 27% increase in hair strength
  • 19% increase in hair count

100% of people had an improvement in overall hair health and 86% of people agreed that their hair felt thicker overall, their scalp was less visible along the hairline, and they noticed an increase in new hair strands.

And it’s safe to say it’s doing wonders for my own gruaig!
