The VIP List: Here’s what Team VIP is all about this week

There’s a new issue of VIP Magazine on shelves and we couldn’t be prouder.

You can take a sneak peek at the magazine here.

Of course, we’re delighted with the finished result. So we had plenty to celebrate this week.

Here’s what we’ve been loving at VIP HQ.

Digital Editor Bronwyn is loving…Meditation

Like most people, my brain is going ninety miles an hour at all times. And I love meditation. Or at least, I try to love it. I have apps to help me do 15 minutes meditation a day. But by the time I have cleared my mind of what I need to do that week and stopped thinking about that really embarrassing thing I said at the age of six the meditation session is over.

This week I spent my bank holiday taking an hour-long guided meditation with Emer Lush who runs Spiritual Garden. She holds classes over Zoom, so you don’t have to worry about other people looking at you.

I spent the hour on my bed, eyes closed with the Zoom camera turned off so I could really immerse myself in it all. I felt so relaxed and at ease, as if I was floating by the time I was done. I highly recommend it – check out more here.

Staff Writer Anja is loving…The Real Housewives of New Jersey

My fellow reality tv fans out there will be delighted to hear that a brand new season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey is back on Hayu for its 13th season, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!

This time round our Housewives are jetting off from the Garden State and heading across the Atlantic to take on Ireland. Yes, Ireland and it’s safe to say they soaked up every minute of it!

Returning for the new season are familiar favourites Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Margaret Josephs, Dolores Catania and Jennifer Aydin, as well as new housewives Danielle Cabral and Rachel Fuda. The season will also be followed by Teresa Giudice and Louie Ruelas’s wedding special. So expect lots of love, drama, betrayal and of course Dublin!

Weekend Editor Sláine is loving…You

As a general rule of thumb I HATE anything horror, gore, thriller, or truecrime related. What can I say, scaredy-cat till the day I die. So my love for Netflix’s You came as a big surprise, but it’s been a firm favourite of mine since season one.

Following the life of stalker and serial killer, Joe Goldberg, it honestly couldn’t sound less appealing if it tried (at least to me) but You is much less of a thriller than it is a human behavioural drama, with some very compelling characters. Not just that but it places a lot of emphasis on story aspects like setting, really seeking to capturing the atmosphere of whatever city Joe is living in.

The cast is also amazing. They do switch their stars every season or so, with leading man Penn Badgley being the only constant. But he manages to put on stellar performance, and bring something new to Joe each season. (Also helps that he’s been the LOML since his John Tucker Must Die days).

It’s not everyone’s cup of tea (if you like plot-driven show, it will have you banging your head against a wall) but I preferer a series with some emphasis on character. Season four just debuted yesterday, so I haven’t seen much of it yet, but from the get-go its already impressed.
