Niamh Cullen took to social media over the weekend to share the heartbreaking news that her husband, Jamie, had passed away.

She posed a black and white video of the pair dancing around and beaming at one another.

“The light of my life. I was the luckiest to be loved and adored by you Jamie. I love you endlessly, not just now, but eternally.

“This video for me shows our unconditional love, fun and laughter. I’m broken.”

Earlier in November, Niamh shared that Jamie had been diagnosed with cancer after falling ill just days after their wedding.

The couple tied the knot in Italy, before Jamie was rushed to hospital in Rome. Niamh kept his health struggles private for the past year.

Just days before his passing, the couple celebrated their one year wedding anniversary.

“I can’t believe it’s already our one year wedding anniversary. I was too emotional over the weekend to even look through our photos or think about posting,” she wrote.

“Happy anniversary to my amazing, brave, and resilient husband. You make my world a better place.”

After she confirmed Jamie’s death, she was met with tributes to Jamie.

Newlywed Louise Cooney shared her own post, saying: “We are heartbroken beyond words at the loss of our beautiful friend Jamie Gill

“@niamhcullenx you know how much we adored him, he was the life and soul of the party, the most thoughtful, positive, loving guy you could meet. The kind of energy we need more of in the world.

“Life is so cruel & unfair. There was two big empty seats at our wedding this weekend & a big hole in our lives that we’ll never be able to fill. RIP pal. Niamh, we’ve got you.”

James Kavanagh shared: “‘An absolute ball of a person’ is the easiest way to describe Jamie Gill, but he was so much more than that. He gave everyone in his orbit undivided attention if you wanted it. He listened, was always FULL of enthusiasm and advice and had the most genuine interest in seeing his friends and family flourish.

“We shared gorgeous conversations during our Covid walks that I always looked forward to. My cat, who kinda dislikes people, adored him – which means a huge amount imo. Him and @niamhcullenx created this absolute magic that you wanted to be around. If Niamh and Jamie were at the party, you could BET I’d be going.

“If you could bottle the giddiness and fun they create you’d be loaded. Jamie is a testament to his beautiful parents and brothers, who I adored being around too. @niamhcullenx, my love for you grows silly amounts day by day, and me and your devoted friends & family will be with you every step of the way. Rest in peace, Jamie, we all adore you so much.”

Miriam O’Callaghan commented on Niamh’s post: “I am just so terribly sorry and sad to hear this news Niamh – words fail at a time like this. I am beyond heart broken that your beloved Jamie has left this world and that you have been robbed of the love of your life and that he has been robbed of his life.

“Life is just so incredibly cruel and senseless sometimes – it’s just truly impossible to make any sense whatsoever as to why the Universe decided to rob your beautiful Jamie of his life, and rob you of your beloved Jamie. Makes no sense.

“All I can say is that his profound love will mind you forever more and he will always be by your side. Codladh sámh Jamie. So so sorry Niamh.”

Rosie Connolly shared: “Life is beyond cruel. Jamie adored you more than anything, idolised you… you both deserved a lifetime together, I’m so sorry my love.”

Jamie will be laid to rest on December 2nd.

Rest in peace, Jamie.
