Irish actress Aisling Franciosi is set for international success as she’s just landed her first ever leading film role. Aisling rose to fame on BBC series The Fall, where she played the part of love-sick school girl Katie Benedetto.
The thriller film is called The Nightingale and is set in 1990s Tasmania. Aisling will play the part of an Irish woman named Claire, who is seeking revenge for the murders of her family.
The film tells the tale of convict Claire on her fight for justice for the killings of her husband and child. She hires an Aboriginal tracker to carry out her revenge.
Filming will begin in Australia in the coming months, and we can expect to see The Nightingale in cinemas next year.
Also set to star in the flick is Me Before You actor Sam Clafin, and it will be directed by Jennifer Kent, the woman responsible for hit thriller film, the Babadook.
