A new rom-com series set in Ireland?
Yes please!
The trailer for a new Belfast-set romantic comedy entitled The Lovers has been released and safe to say, we’re already obsessed!
The six-part series stars our very own Roisin Gallagher, who you might recognise from The Dry and The Fall as well as British heart-throb Johhny Flynn.
So what’s it all about?
Well, according to the official synopsis: “The hilarious and heartfelt series follows Janet (Roisin Gallagher), a bad-tempered, hilarious, Belfast supermarket worker who couldn’t give a s*** about anything much at all, including her life.
“And Seamus (Johnny Flynn), a handsome, self-centred, political broadcaster with what looks to be a perfect London life and a celebrity girlfriend.
“So when Seamus unexpectedly drops into Janet’s world (literally over the wall and into her backyard), they instantly clash – and yet also find themselves inextricably drawn to each other.”
“Set in Belfast, this is a sexy, funny, fight-y love story about two people who appear to be utterly wrong for each other – yet may just be utterly right.”
The series also stars Game of Thrones’, Conleth Hill and Star Trek Into Darkness’, Alice Eve.
The Lovers is set to arrive on Sky Atlantic and NOW on Thursday 7 September.
